Our 5th annual March for Melanoma was held at Waterfront City, Docklands on the 6th of March. This event is our bookend to summer with this year’s dedication to Men and Melanoma. Australia has the highest rate of melanoma deaths in the world. It is vital that men heed the message and do regular self-examinations that will help to detect new and changing moles. Early detection is vital.

The foundation would like to thank our hard working volunteers, who are there each year, as well as our regular supporters like Associate Professor Grant MacArthur from Peter Mac. Together with his family, Grant has participated in the walk each year. It was very touching to see the fantastic turn out this year, which has gathered momentum with all age groups, showing their support and giving strength to survivors and their families, at the same time helping to promote awareness of this deadly cancer.
Over 600 supporters made the trip to Waterfront City on a magnificent summer’s day. Again, this year friends and family attended the walk to remember RICARDA and show support to other families. A special thank you to Richard’s young friends, Brie Ting age 8 and 6 year old Mylee James, raising $423 from personal sponsorships. This amazing effort and initiative from the girls also helped to promote awareness at the same time.
Congratulations to Brie and Mylee, our top fundraisers
