Raising awareness for the prevention of melanoma.

2008 - March for Melanoma - A Great Success

The foundation would like to thank all who participated at this special event. Our 2nd MARCH forMELANOMA was a great success promoting sun awareness and especially early detection of melanoma. We had support from as far as Bendigo, Taralgon, Gippsland, Warragul, Phillip Island, King Lake and stretching out to the far east of Melbourne (Yarra Valley and Mt. Dandenong).

Donations are coming thick and fast for all the sponsored participants. Please accept our gratitude for getting involved in this, our first sponsorship program..

The History...

Our first March for Melanoma occurred on 4th March 2007 and was a wonderful success. Over 1000 attended the day at Williamstown Reserve in Williamstown, including the entire Westren Bulldogs Football Club. After the walk attendees were treated to an unforgettable rock concert with performances by Diesel, Paul Dempsey (Something for Kate), Shane Pullin and local band Mosaik.

Melanoma remains Australia's most preventable cancer, losing more than 1,600 people each year to this insidious disease.
